I’m Catherine, a Bahamian maker with salt in my veins and a deep love for the stories scents can tell. What began as a quiet hobby crafting small-batch candles in my Nassau kitchen soon became something more: a journey to capture the essence of island life through fragrance.

Here in The Bahamas, scent is memory. It drifts in with the ocean breeze, blooms in the sweetness of frangipani, and lingers in the warmth of sun-soaked days. Each candle I pour is inspired by these moments: the rhythm of the waves, the beauty of our landscape, and the spirit of our people.

But Potcake Designs is about more than candles. It’s a tribute to the loyal, resilient Potcake dogs that roam our beaches and hearts, symbols of love, strength, and home. Their spirit reminds me of why I create: to honor the connection between nature, community, and compassion.
